Rick resides in a Citizen Care
community living site and independence is one of his top priorities. He uses a motorized wheelchair to get around his home and community. However, when Rick wanted to relax in his room and have some alone time, he struggled with being able to independently navigate the tight space and found it difficult to get into his recliner.
Determined to help Rick live the way he wished, Citizen Care staff did some research and found a bed that’s versatile and practical. The bed adjusts for comfort, turns into a recliner and spins 180 degrees so Rick can watch his TV without any issue. This allowed Rick to get rid of his old recliner, creating more space and maneuverability in his room. When he’s ready to lie down, Rick can change the recliner into a bed by himself.
Rick could not afford the bed/recliner on his own, but thanks to Citizen Care’s Dream Fund, he was able to get his dream bed and is enjoying every minute of it.
