Jasmine beats the odds!
Jasmine is supported in Citizen Care’s Medically Complex Conditions Life Sharing Program by her mom, Beth. She is diagnosed with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome (RSTS), a rare genetic condition affecting approximately 1 in 100,000 births. RSTS affects physical and cognitive development. Children with RSTS often have broad thumbs and toes, unique facial features and developmental challenges—but they also radiate warmth, joy and an incredible zest for life. Jasmine has all those wonderful characteristics and much more wrapped up in a small package.
Jasmine has recently taken her first steps and she’s not slowing down! With her trusty Nimbo walker by her side for longer adventures and supportive braces and shoes to help her stride strong, she’s exploring the world one step at a time.
She attends weekly physical therapy, building strength and confidence with every session. And let’s just say her curiosity knows no bounds. She definitely keeps her mom, Beth, on her toes!
